PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
DO NOT CONSUME ANY ALCOHOL BEVERAGES, PAIN MEDICATION, VITAMINS, OR CAFFEINE (COFFEE, TEA, ENERGY DRINKS, ETC.) 48 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Consuming alcohol or caffeine acts as a blood thinner. It will cause the skin to irritate and bleeding will reduce the pigment absorption as blood will push out the colors, resulting in poor color retention.
DISCONTINUE ASPIRIN, NIACIN, VITAMIN E, ADVIL/IBUPROFEN OR BLOOD THINNER MEDICATION 48 HOURS BEFORE PROCEDURE.
Consult with your doctor before stopping any medications.
You should skip moisturizing or use any products/makeup on your brows 24 hours prior.
Ask your physician if you can discontinue the use of Retin-A, chemical and laser peels, microdermabrasion, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) at least 6 weeks prior (and avoid eyebrow area after procedure to prevent premature fading)
REMEMBER even after your brows are healed, you must avoid harsh facial products/cleansers that can alter the color.
Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 2 months prior to and 2 months after your appointment.
Do not wax, tweeze, thread, shave, or tint your brows. Every attempt is made to retain all natural hair and integrate it into the design of the permanent brows.
Avoid tanning 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after your appointment.
If you use accutane, you have to wait a year.
Antibiotics, steroids, and other medications will greatly impact healed results. Clients are encouraged to avoid these 2 weeks prior to appointment.
Blood pressure, thyroids, and other daily medications may strongly impact healed results.
PLEASE NOTE: FAILING TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WILL GREATLY IMPACT YOUR PROCEDURE AND CAN CAUSE YOU NEED ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS THAT WILL BE BILLED TO YOU.
BROW AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
TREATING YOUR BROWS WITH EXTREME CARE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE BEST HEALED RESULTS IN BEAUTIFUL HEALED BROWS. FOLLOWING AND BEING CONSISTENT WITH GOOD AFTERCARE WILL RESULT IN BEAUTIFUL HEALED BROWS.
DAY 1: THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
1. Use a damp cotton round and wipe the brow area once every 30 minutes for 3 hours.
2. Allow brows to briefly dry and apply the aftercare ointment after wiping the brow area.
3. After the 3 hours has passed, continue to observe the brow area, wipe and reapply aftercare ointment as needed. Oily and ethnic skin types will need to wipe throughout the entire day.
4. Before bed wipe the brow area, allow the area to air dry and reapply the aftercare ointment.
Remember: Following Day 1 aftercare is extremely important. It will help to remove the hardening lymphatic fluids that produce thick scabs. Thick scabs = poor pigment retention.
DAY 2: MORNING ROUTINE
In the morning and before bed wipe the brow area. Allow the area to air dry and reapply the aftercare ointment.
DAY 3 - DAY 7: DO NOT GET BROWS WET
Apply a minimal amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area twice a day. Remember to never over hydrate the brows by making them visibly shiny. Oily skin types may need to blot gently around the brow area with oil sheets during this time. Dry skin types may need to apply more ointment.
DAY 8 - UNTIL BROWS ARE DONE EXFOLIATING
Wash twice daily by patting a small amount of diluted gentle cleanser or soap (Dial, Cetaphil, or Baby Shampoo) to the eyebrow area with your ring finger. Gently remove the soap with cool water and the pads of your fingers.
DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.
Always allow brows to air dry before applying aftercare ointment. Continue to apply ointment until the
last scabs have exfoliated.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHOWERING AND FACE WASHING
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair facing away from the water. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. Day 2-7 do not splash water on
the face area when washing and keep products far away from the brow area. Face wash should be removed with a gentle facial cloth, but never touching the brow area.
